VEER CREATES HISTORYTeam Pashankar Racing ends Team TVS racing’s dominance in the National Supercross Championship by winning the Foreign Open Class for the first time in over TWO DECADES.Ever since Veer Patel began racing in 2007 professionally, he dreamt of winning the National championship within a span of three years and the target was set to 2009.The Event was held in Pune, the race was flagged of by SURESH KALMADI at 7pm. On Saturday it was dream come true for rider Veer Patel to end the stranglehold that Team TVS racing had in the MRF National Supercross Championship over the years. Veer put it “ I never thought of winning the championship so easily when I set off the 2009 championship as I knew for a fact that it was going to be really hard, but at the end all the hard work and commitment paid of.”Veer sealed the championship in the first Moto itself with a margin of 26 points over TVS rider Arvind Kp who finished 2nd in the championship. Veer from the beginning did not take much sweat, “I knew what I needed to do to wrap up the championship”.Moto 1 race we saw Veer taking the Holeshot but not finishing in the numerous positions as it was not needed; it was CS Santosh from Team TVS racing winning the race. Veer earned 17 points itself in the first moto and the championship was sealed, he did not even have to ride the 2nd moto to wrap the title.Moto 2 race we again saw Veer taking the holeshot, it was a real good battle between TVS rider and TPR rider for the lead, Santosh and Veer passing each other several times but at the end Santosh came out with the win. Veer said “I trailed him through out the race, we had couple of gnarly contacts during the race but yeah that’s racing so no complaints”.It was no rush for TPR rider Veer in this round as he had championship in his mind, winning the previous round in Bangalore with 1-1 an
