Personal History
My name is Tyler Epling and I am 30 years old. I am a father to a beautiful nine year old girl and her name is Reagan. Living in Michigan and am a full time Firefighter/Paramedic for Lansing FD. Before that I served four years in the active duty Marine Corps. I love to stay fit, workout, and train; not only for motocross but my profession as well. Including cycling, being in the gym, swimming, running, or training at the firehouse or mx track.
Just completed my second, and successful, year on the 2021 Kawasaki KX250. Finishing in the top 10 of the AMA D14 Veteran MX Warrior Class Series. A class for military veterans and mostly composed of B/Intermediate racers. Finishing 8th overall is a big accomplishment as a C class racer.
My family is enveloped in this sport and the reason I love it so much. It brings us all closer together! My brother and I belong to the Veteran Motocross Foundation, or known as Veteran MX, and race in the Warrior Class Series in Michigan (AMA D14). Many companies have supported our foundation and mission to help fellow veterans through moto. For this, I know myself, and brothers and sisters in arms, are very grateful for the support the industry and Moto community has showed us! I now am also looking forward to furthering existing partnerships with companies/family and creating new ones for the 2023 season and beyond.
Riding Goals
For 2023, I am shooting for vast improvement in my riding ability and finishes at the end of the season. In 2022, I focused on the AMA D14 Veteran MX Warrior Class Series. As stated above, mostly composed of B class racers and I am a C class racer. My goal was to be top 5 like 2021, but I came up short of the goal. I did finish in the top 10, at 8th overall. This season composed of multiple injuries and finished the year with a sprained shoulder.
I am striving to come back healthier than ever next year. I am setting the goal of finishing in the top 10 of three different AMA D14 series/championships.
- Veteran MX Warrior Class Series
- Vet Sport (25+ C) Season Championship
- Vet Sport (25+ C) Michigan State Championship Series
Also striving for a top 10 finish in next years RedBud VetFest and possibly the RCSX Daytona event.
