Rider Updates
There was some good racing in the combined 250cc Beginner and Junior contest. In the first moto, the fast-starting Trevor Petrecevic jumped out into the lead. The CRF pilot is no stranger to Mountain View Raceway, and he was laying down some fast laps. Amazingly enough, though, he couldn’t seem to shake Collin Sullivan. The two went around the track lap after lap, never gaining and never losing any time to one another. Petrecevic took the moto win, with Sullivan in second, but considering their lap times being so close, it was bound to be a good second moto. When the second moto took off, it was once again Petrecevic jumping out into the lead. This time Sullivan went right to work on him and made the pass for the lead. The two commenced to ride their hardest, with Petrecevic gaining time by outjumping Sullivan, but Sullivan would get that time back in the corners. In the end, Sullivan pulled out all the stops and pulled away to an easy win. Petrecevic rode in a disappointed second. Sullivan (2-1) took the overall win in the Junior class, while Petrecevic (1-2) finished second, Steven Harris (3-3) took third and Alex Fleck (4-4) took fourth. Winning the Beginner class was Oregon City rider Dan Myers (1-1), while Nathaniel Ashley (2-2) took runner-up honors.
