Personal History
I served 22 years in the Army retiring as a First Sergeant (E8), however, throughout my life, since the age of 10 yrs old, I have had a passion for riding dirt bikes. This served as an outlet for me through the years, as a LEO officer, Military and just in general, this has been my "Hobby". Whether it is breaking down the bike(s), riding/racing MX - is where I spent primarily the first 20 yrs, then merging into trails competitively and enjoying them both now, I have loved the sport and hope to ride until I die. I enjoy mentoring the young bucks and helping anyone work on their bikes. I especially enjoying getting all the guys (and a few girls) together riding, we go to races, watch everyone in their classes, help each other and really have an extended Moto family. I am known as the "Mayor" when it comes to riding. I am a believer in training with the fast guys and learning from different riding styles. I try to extend my knowledge to the young guys around me and the older. I stand on the notion that to be a well rounded rider you should ride both, trails and MX. They each teach you riding skills that benefit competitively. My version of Cross-fit is how well I go from my MX bike, to my Trail bike then to my Dual sport. I fit them all well. I really love dual sport riding and joining group rides, meeting new people and seeing all the latest and greatest.
Riding Goals
In racing Mx, Hare scrambles, GNCC,and enduros I hope to land more podium finishes and see how far I can push myself in my classes. I am always looking to improve my endurance and riding skills, participating in training and learning about suspension.
My goals this year (2018) are focused on :
Amateur level MX - Amateur Day in the National Outdoors Season
Complete the FTR Hare scramble season in my +45A class (SSA)
Compete in the FTR Enduro season in my SSA class
I already completed in my local GNCC 2018 and will be preparing for next year A class
Competitive Highlights
In 2016 I was the FL/GA MX Series +35 and +40 Champion.
In my first Senior B class race for FTR Hare Scramble I took first, my friends and wife started calling me a sandbagger and made me move up where I continued podium finishes in A class.
I have had some awesome races with my competition in MX and HS, battling out with the +40 guys who are also former pros.
In my first GNCC SSA I finished 3rd with national level guys.
My wife was tired of the piles of plaques and trophies so she made my a Hall of Fame, it is a cool reminder to see how blessed I have been to ride. It is not a chore for me but a dream come true.
I have so many awards from the 90's to present that I had to start getting rid of momentos to make room for new ones. I hope to continue having this dilemma as there is nothing else I would rather do.
