Personal History

I am a motocross racer from Uganda, I started riding and racing in Kenya, but recently just moved to South Africa. I started riding dirt bikes at 12 years of age on an old Honda CR85, which my uncle bought my brother and I as a present.  After a few months of riding I got a YZ85cc and started racing just 1 year after.

I have been racing for 3 years now and each year I have been learning a lot and hope that 2017 will bring me some championships as I am willing to put in the hard work and show what I have learnt. My first year of racing in 2013 was tough as I was getting used to the pressure of racing and having all the fast guys leaving me in their dust, but we practiced and learnt a lot which helped me perform the way I performed over the 3 years of racing.

In 2014 I placed 4th in the 85cc class due to a fractured shoulder and a few mechanical difficulties.  In 2015 I moved up to the 125 cc class and rode a good consistent season landing a 3rd overall in the Kenya national championship.  In 2016 we decided to race the MX2 class with my 125 cc bike for preparation for the MX of African Nations and was able to ride a good season finishing 2nd overall in the country. During the season, we had a few mechanical difficulties and missed one race, but it was a good season of racing and now we look forward to 2017.

Over the years of racing we have suffered a tremendous amount of mechanical failures brought about by second hand bikes, which we are trying to eliminate in 2017, I am looking for sponsorship to help with ensuring the bike is always in top shape to help me put in a solid year of racing.

I enjoy riding bikes, playing golf and video games when I have the time.

Riding Goals

My riding goals for 2017 are as follows: -

  1. Kenyan National MX2 champion
  2. East African MX2 champion
  3. Podium Finisher at the MX of African Nations 2017 (Botswana)

My riding goals for the long term is to hopefully make it to the Pro ranks one day but we start by first qualifying for Lorretta Lynn’s MX (biggest amateur race in the world) and move on with my amateur career and see what opportunities come about.
