Personal History
My name is micheal colclasure. I started riding at 5 years old on a handa crf50. I had that bike for many years until I moved up to a sazuki rm85. That was one of the best bikes I had, and was the perfect bike to really get better on. I also shortly after getting the Suzuki got a Honda CRF 150 R. I ended up getting rid of the 150 and bought a Kawasaki KX 250 F. That bike blew up on me after a year or so and after that, I took a break from riding for about six months. About nine months ago I bought the bike. I have now which is a 2017 YZ 250 X with a 325 big bore kit. I have alwayse loved riding sence a very young age but never got into racing until this past year.
Riding Goals
My riding goals is to make it to AA in off-road and also try and get into track as well. I know I have the commitment to the sport to do it as well and I have shown that trough my races even though I haven’t finish in a high placing. I have hurt myself pretty bad I’m some of my races and pushed through just so I know I finished the race. I go out and train with some of the A and AA riding that I know as well. I am told by everyone that I have the speed to move up to b class but I need to get better at racing and be more patient and pace myself because some of the races is a 80 mile enduro. So my goal for this year is to gain the experience to move up to b class next season.
Competitive Highlights
My first competitive highlight is that I finished the wickenburg hard enduro race. It was a race of gnarly uphills and steep down hills and rocky washes for all 60 miles of it and that’s not including the transfer tections. I was very proud of myself after finishing that race because I got stuck on some of the hills and it took so much out of me but I proved to myself that I could push through and not give up. My second competitive highlight is when I raced in arena cross. It was only my second time on a track and my first time hitting any serous whoops. I did practice and wasn’t feeling the best about it because I signed up for c and b open and there was only b riders except for me and they seemed fast. I looked at it as a learning experience instead of being scared. I went up to the starting line for the race and the bikes were so loud I couldn’t hear when my bike started but that was one of the best parts of the race. When the gate dropped it got stuck and I couldn’t go like it did to 5 other people that day. So I got a pad start and after I got started the people where already half way through the lap. So I started going and was taking it easy and just wanted to finish and then the leader lapped me right before the berm going into the whoops. He was a quarter way through the whoops by the time I got onto them so I just pinned it and applied what I had learned from practice and caught him by the end of the whoops. There was a big finish line jump after the whoops and had never went for a jump like that before but I was right behind the leader so I went for it and thaught I had enough speed but I came up a little short and landing on my front wheel on the face of the landing and cased it really hard. I hurt my wrist pretty bad and had to ride the rest of the race one handed but I just wanted to finish and I did. My last competitive highlight is my last race in my home town Prescott valley Az. The race started and I pulled holeshot and my brother was on the line right next to me but he had to kick his bike a few times and mine started first kick.I went around the first 3 turns and was pulling away from everyone but I made a mastake going the the mud puddle on the 4th turn. I planted my foot in the mud because my bike was getting stuck and I hit the gas to hard and my bike spun around and my foot stays still and I tore a few ligaments in my knee which are still healing. I got back up quick and managed to get back into 3rd on a rough down hill right before going up and narrow up hill on the side of a steep hill. I thaught I had enough room to get around the 2nd place guy and clipped his bars and went off the side of the hill and rolled down for about 60 feet but I didn’t knock the guy over it took me about 20 minutes to get off the hill and back on track and the best lap time was a 30 minute lap and on my first lap I had a 40 minute which is the lap I was down for about 20 minutes and everyone got way in front. When I got back on track I was doing my absolute best to gain some time back and catch up. There was 16 people in the race and I placed 10th after that crash and I messed up knee. And the best part of it all is that I was on the front page of the c class pictures doing a wheelie up a hill
