Personal History

My name is Mercedez Hardcastle, 16 year old Female from Brisbane, QLD, Australia. I currently am 7th in Queensland and about to compete in the State Queensland titles representing my district, South Queensland, on their ID Squad. I also currently hold 2nd Best out all the 16 girls in my District and took out the win in the finals. I've competed in Bmx Racing for two years and about to head into Junior Elite next year. Within my two years of racing I've achieved:

  • Qualified  for BMX World Championships two years in a row
  • Rookie of the Year for Bayside BMX Club (2013)
  • 2nd best in South Queensland two years in a row
  • Representative on ID Squad for South Queensland two years in a row
  • Currently a coach for 4-12 year boy and girl riders
  • 7th Best in Queensland
  • 12th Best in Australia 
  • Compete in running, athletic sports
  • Been in the local newspaper three times for sporting achievements

I train 6 days of the week, both riding and gym work , with a rest day to focus on my studies. I'm active on social networking such as facebook, instagram, and youtube frequently. I compete in local competitions but also all across Australia and advancing my travels across the World next year. My usually race results for local events is 1st in Age (girls) and finalist for Pro Women. I'm a highly active volunteer  in my sport as I coach on Tuesday night training at my local club, First Aid helper, and help out with younger riders (sprockets) on open days.  I'm a very active person and always willing to improve and be the best I can be.  I am an overall confident and active person that always likes to laugh and always wants to find the fun and adventure in everything!

Riding Goals

My Riding goals:

2014 :

  • To place in the finals in State Titles Finals for 16 year old girls and to beat my current rank, 7th, on the 22nd September 2014
  • To be sponsored and to carry my sponsorship to next year Junior Elite and when I compete international around the world

2015:

  • To Qualify and make into the finals for BMX World Championships in July, 2015
  • To achieve and improve on my current ranks at local, and national competitions throughout the whole year.
  • To be a finalist in the ABA National Championships in Oklahoma, America in November, 2015

Future goals:

  • To make it to the 2020 Olympic games with an amazing sponsor and a great support team
  • To make it onto the Australian High Performance Team by 2017
  • To help promote, improve, and enjoy BMX racing as much as humanly possible throughout my travels.
