Personal History

As young as I can remember, I always had a fascination with dirt bikes. I would sit on my bed looking through issues of Motocross Action mag for hours on end. One day, I was surprised by my parents with my first bike, a KX100. From that day forward, I was HOOKED! I started racing motocross at the age of 12. My buddies and I would go and burn what seemed like hundreds of laps multiple times a week and the local track. I had my small broken bones here and there, but it was at the age of 25 that I had a very serious riding accident. I completely shattered my tibia, fibula, and talus in my right leg. After a 5 hour long surgery, I was in placed in an external fixator. My orthopedist said I may never walk again, much less would ever be able to go back to riding. After a year of learning to walk again, the riding bug hit me hard. Over the past few years, I have went through some very hard therapy and weight training to get myself back to as normal as possible. I stayed off of the bikes due to my injuries for as long as I could stand it, which has been almost 5 years. I'm now 30 years old, and picked up a 2018 KTM 250XC! I decided to make the transition into offroad riding and racing with a bunch of my buddies who have done this stuff for years. Man, is it ever fun! So not only did I endure one of the toughest times of my life over the past few years, I also decided to become a registered nurse during this time. So here I am, back stronger than before, half man, half stainless steel. I'm ready to throw down.

Riding Goals

My riding goals have definitely changed from my younger years. I now want to bring fast, consistent, safe riding into my program. I plan to hit most of the local and regional events that my work schedule, as well as financial status will allow me to do. I plan to continue to compete in the 30+ class from here on out, and do my absolute best to bring home the hardware without bringing home any hospital bills. Consistency is key now.

Competitive Highlights

My favorite competitive highlight, would have to be April 29th at my first race back in well over 5 years. I pulled the holeshot in my class (30+) which consisted of Open Pro, A, and B riders. Not to mention that was my first dead engine start ever. That felt amazing!
