Personal History
My name is Mason Stone. I live in the Reno/Tahoe Area in Nevada. I am 13 years old and in the 7th grade at Our Lady of the Snow's Catholic School. My biggest passions are motocycling and snowboarding. Where I live, I can go directly from my garage to the dirt on my motorcyle within 2 minutes or be on the snowboarding hill from morning til dark with in 30 minutes. Both my mom and dad where raised in Nevada so I have many uncles and cousins that enjoy to ride and snowboard right along with me.
I began desert racing with the MRANN desert racers when I was 5 years old. I have raced in almost all of the northern Nevada desert. Although I say desert, I have raced in the snow and rain, as well as the baking sun. One time my dad stayed up until midnight the night before a race to put "studs" in my tires as it was dumping snow and we knew the race would be without dirt.
Although my early years where spent racing the desert, my focus has turned to motocross. My no fear additude helps me conquer many of the different jumps in motocross.
Riding Goals
As I have recently completed my first motocross series in California, I found that my riding has improved a great deal. The California riders seem to be faster and the tracks more challenging. My goals are to continue to ride in as many series as I can and go on the compete in some of the National qualifiers and the Nationals.
Competitive Highlights
I began racing in the MRANN Desert Racing Association at the age of 5. In 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, I placed 2nd overall in my class for the seasons. In 2010, my focus turned to motocross and I trophied in many different races, but never competed in an entire series. In 2011, I placed 2nd overall in the Rev, Rock & Ride Summer Night Series and in the SMRA State Champ Series in Nevada. In 2012, I placed 3rd in my class and 4th in the open class in the CMC Golden State National Series in California.
