Personal History
My name is Lizz Turney. I began riding dirt bikes at the age of 14; my first bike was a ttr125. I learned quickly and made huge gains in a short amount of time. After riding for a few months I entered my first race and won. The next summer I made the big jump to a 250f. I started racing South Dakota Motocross Association races in order to get more experience with faster competition. That summer I competed in the boy’s class along with the women’s class and ended up winning three championships. The following year we raced District 23 races in Minnesota and started racing the Millville Super Series. There was and still is a great turn out for fast women at Millville. The track has also been amazing for building and growing my skills in motocross.
I really wanted to pursue farther into this racing career and so I started racing to try to qualify for Loretta Lynn’s and other amateur nationals. After graduating high school in 2011, I was accepted to the University of Minnesota in pursuit to be a doctor. I loved racing and decided I would try to race motocross while I’m still young. I started training with Robbie Reynard at the Reynard Training Complex in Wellston Oklahoma that following winter. I have lived there and trained there for the past three years. I have made tremendous gains and am still working on becoming better. I currently race in the 250 B Mod class and Women’s 14+.
