Personal History
Started riding dirt bikes at age 7. Introduced by a friend down the street, his dad had a motorcycle shop. Riding in fields and wherever we could find was what we did! My dad took me to ride my first MX track when I was 11, it was the legendary Rio Bravo in Houston. I feel in love with motocross that day. Seems like from that point on it was riding and racing every weekend. Racing got serious in 1993, I was racing the C class and was winning. I won the GNC international finial at Lake Whitney, Finished 2nd at Ponca City, Won a few Motos at Lorettas. From 93-95 was pretty much the same, racing was my life. Racing Texas series events, qualifiers, Vegas, Ponca, LLs, mini os! I turned Pro in 1996, I had just graduated high school. I ran the first 3 SXs on the west coast. Ran Houston SX and New Orleans. Gaining experience, I loaded up my Box Van 2 Cr 125s, meet up with my privateer buddy Andre Pene from Alabama. We hit the nationals Budds creek, Red Bud, Southwick, Millville, Broome Tioga, Steel City! I made some awesome friends and was an amazing experience. 97-99 I kept chasing the dream traveling, on a shoe string budget! June 20, 2000 my world changed, I was involved in a head on collision in a car! A guy feel asleep and turned in to us doing 65mph, we never say it coming! I woke up in ICU a week later. My racing days we're over! Seat belt saved my life, but caused major damage internally. Docs saying I can't ride again, I turned to the only other thing I enjoyed was working on bikes. After a year of recovery, I took a job with MotoSport Outlets first SX team. It was 2001, I wrenched for Matt Shue, and Jeff Heddin. I drove the race truck from race to race and wrenched at the SXs on the weekends! The following year I hooked up with Ryan Clark and wrenched for Team LCR Yamaha. Worked for Keith Johnson from Albuquerque, we ran lites west coast, and the rest on a 250 2 stroke! that was the start of the thumpers! 2003 I went back home, working for ProWorksRacing in Houston, Randall the owner and I had been friends for years! I stayed at PWR from 2003-2009. I finally was ready to open my own business and did May 3rd 2003. GravettRacingLLC engines/suspensions. Got married, had a baby boy, and time flew by! starting my own buisness, and starting a family was priority #1! 7 years later I had the oppritunity to go to Baja 1000. I had not been on a bike in seemed like forever! Long story short, I ended up racing with a group of old moto buddies and we finished the 1000 in 7th place! It felt like i was reborn again! The passion for racing returned and i havnt looked back! Now the starting of 2020, Ive raced in baja for the past 4 years, and looking forward to this year starting my own program! Thank you for taking the time look over my page and consider me to represent your company!
