Personal History
Currently working full time as an Office Manager for a tax and accounting firm, Jane Smiley CPA, Inc. My mother is the owner and has been in business 26 years. When I am not helping our clients with their tax and accounting needs I am usually outdoors on an adventure.
As a child I grew up scaring my parents by always participating in extreme sports with my buddies like snow skiing, water skiing, riding dirtbikes, quads, street bikes, and jet skis. If it had a motor I wanted to ride it. My parents bravely supported my childhood obsession for as long as they could financially which led me to take a break from dirt bikes and toys around the end of graduating high school in 2010. I tried college for a couple years but it was not my thing. I filled the hours after work by hitting the gym.
I started working out 5 years ago cause I was overweight and wanted to make a change. I lost over 50 lbs and fell in love with fitness. I started eating healthy, running regularly, mountain biking and lifting weights.
A buddy and I at the office got trading stories one day about how much we used to love to ride our dirtbikes and both said well, let's get one again. Not a week or two later we both bought dirt bikes the same weekend. We met a guy at the gym named Mike, who has been riding for over 20 years and invited us out to his property to practice and teach us a few things.
Without Mike helping us learn and combining our passions for riding. I never would have thought about competing in a race. He got my buddy and I into the sport of hare scrambles and woods cross country racing and It’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I love how challenging it is physically and mentally and not to mention it’s an absolute blast. I am continually getting better and am looking forward to the future.
