Personal History

I grew up in Eastern Kentucky and began riding with my cousins when I was four on a italjet 50, Honda 50 Z, and a mini trail 70. I fell in love with dirtbikes, and my greatest gift was getting a DS 80 for my 8th birthday. I rode old coal mining roads until I left for the Marine Corps after graduating high school. I served four years in the Marine Corps and seventeen years in the Air Force worldwide. Throughout my journey, I have gained four exceptional children and a wonderful wife, Karen. In 2011, our family got stationed back in the United States, and I was able to start riding again. From East Coast to West Coast, I ride where I can, in whatever series are available with my wife as pit crew and whatever we could load in our truck. In 2015, my friend Rob and I teamed up for a 24-hour enduro with mx and pit support from my wife and another friend, Steve. Our team of Active Duty Members created Alpha 3 racing and have had the opportunity to support the Gary Sinise Foundation. In 2019, I retired from the Air Force and returned to school at Sinclair College for the Helicopter Pilot program. I plan to fly as an EMS pilot transporting patients to care. My wife still serves, and we go where the military sends us.

Riding Goals

I found my passion is in desert racing, and my first goal is to finish Vegas to Reno in the Iron Man class. We are currently stationed in Ohio and drive cross-country to race in Vegas to Reno. Then, as our life allows, we'd love to add additional Best in the Desert series races with an ultimate goal of completing in Baja.

Competitive Highlights

While moving with the military, I competed where available. I started with Grand National Cross County on the east coast, East Coast Enduro Association Hare Scrambles, and the NorthEast 24-hour challenge. I raced in the SECCA, 9-hour race at Perry Mountain. In addition, I have been able to race in Best in the Desert's Vegas to Reno in 2017 and 2018, as well as The Mint 400 in 2020.
