Personal History
My name is Gaven Clarke, a grade 8 student at St. Benedicts Catholic Secondary School. I am also 12 years old.
As a young boy I always dreamed of racing dirt bikes. I was very small for my age so my mom waited till I was big enough to be able to handle a bike. At 9 my dad decided it was time to have a bike so be bought me a built up CRF50 threw me in a race and I placed 2nd over all. That day my dad bought me a kx 65 and I remained in top 3 in northern Ontario.
In 2016 we as a family went to check out Motopark to see about training at their facility to see what they offered and I was hooked. I had a broken arm at the time so I couldn't do much.
Summer 2017 my family moved in a trailer and lived at the track to better advance me. I trained 4 weeks with Motopark academy, and 2018 I trained 6 weeks with Motopark academy.
2018 started out rough due to breaking my shoulder at MP cup on May 20, 2018. However that didn't keep me out too long as I was back on my bike nailing those jumps July 2nd 2018. I was cleared to race mid July and placed 3rd and 4th July 22 2018.
Riding Goals
I have set my goals high in motocross because I know I can do it. At 90 lbs I feel good about what I do. There's always room for improvement and I'm improving every time my wheels hit the track.
I want to be a pro rider.
I want to travel with motocross
I want to do better in the corners.
I want to teach children how to ride in the future
I want to go faster.
I ride my kx 85 very well but I did have the chance to ride a KTM for a week and I blew the doors off. My lap time was 15 seconds faster.
I do have sponsorships that help me FXR, Nicks sales and service, Pat Noble Lumber, D&D moto product, Motomechca, MPA, and of course my mom,dad, & sisters
Competitive Highlights
Since I started racing motocross I have achieved many plaques and trophies in northern Ontario. At Motopark it was a game changer, I'm off the podium over all but still placing 3rd and 4th in some races and in the MP cups in top 10 placements
