What skateboarding styles should I go for?
If you don’t know exact skateboarding styles to opt for, my recommendation is trying every style. The more styles you opt for, the exact styles you want to excel at. But if you already found your own style, don’t stay in your comfort zone for a long time. You should try another one since it will boost your skating tricks to a higher level.
In the posts, SkateAdvisors will give you a list of skateboarding styles for you.
Street style
Street skateboarding is especially for skaters who aim at performing tricks over things appearing on the street, such as stairs, bins or walls. To not be injured, you should have a skateboard with smaller decks and smaller wheels. In addition to this, the trucks need to be stronger.
Freestyle
Freestyle means you will perform tricks on the flat surface. Skaters who follow the styles have a tendency of adding background music while having a ride. One feature to distinguish freestyle and street style is that when skating in freestyle, skaters will show the stationary position.
Cruising
In this style, you don’t need to land tricks. Instead of this, you will focus on speedy rides. When cruising, you can pick whatever skateboard to skate, but the best one is the board whose parts support your skating speed as well as smooth experience.
Park style
Park style is also known as having a ride in skateparks. This style is quite similar to street-style, but safer. When skating in skateparks, you will reduce your chance of being hit by a car, or bumping into someone trying to cross thé street.
Downhill style
The name says it all. You will skate down from the hill speedily. One thing to notice is that you should prepare a longboard with bigger wheels and larger boards in order to be appropriate to your speed.
