Personal History
I grew up around Fort Dodge, IA. Most of my friends from school had dirt bikes and after much convincing I managed to talk my dad into buying me one for Christmas. I started riding with them and getting the basics. I rode for about 6 or 7 years before I even raced. After my first race I was hooked! I started to really study the sport and create some goals and take it more serious. I started seeing changes and results got better.
I took a couple years off from racing in the beginning of my senior year in 2004-05 to focus on my school work and prepare for college. I was accepted to Nashville auto-diseal college but was not able to attend due to family problems. I then got a good paying job and moved out on my own.
This last year has been crazy for me! I havent been able to race as much as i'd like because our house was flooded in early June. My girlfriend and I have been rebuilding all summer while living in a small apartment. This has been a costly disaster for us but we will get through it together!
Riding Goals
- My goals for the are to move up to the A class and be a top competitor.
- I plan to race a few Arenacross races this winter
- Im going to race some of the outdoor national tracks on amatuer days
- To race as many different tracks as possible to develope more skill and technique
- Stay injury free!
In order for me to reach my goals I am going to continue training and practicing as much as possible, and use others advice and tips to better myself as a rider. I have a couple of friends that know what it takes to compete at the level I want to be at and they are helping me get there.
Competitive Highlights
One of my highlights of this past year was at one race they combined the OPEN B class and the OPEN A. I ended up 3rd in the first corner! I couldnt belive i was right in the middle of the A class and also first in my class! I held my position and focused on the other riders lines and used it as a learning opprotunity. I did end up goin over a berm and quickly moved to last place. To go at that pace and be that focused was a real eye opener and got me even more motivated!
Another highlight of mine would definately be riding at SPRING CREEK MOTOCROSS PARK. This year was the first national I had been to and to be on the same track as the best riders in the world was amazing! I plan on going back in 2009!
