Personal History

My name is Hunter Walston, I just turned 10 years old and I started racing motorcycles last year after my family moved back to the US from Bahrain, a small island country in the Middle East next to Saudi Arabia. My Dad has served in the Navy for 23 years and my Mom has been in Law Enforcement for 18 years and I'm very proud of what they do for our country. I have a twin sister that loves to ride horses and my parents work very hard to make sure we get to enjoy the sports that we have chosen. I was born almost two months premature and had to overcome a few obstacles along the way.  I had surgery on my skull and wore a helmet for the first year of my life, I guess you can say I was born to do this! Now I’m very healthy and obsessed with any action sport. I am a grey belt in Brazilian Jiu JItsu, love to do indoor rock climbing and am learning how to play the piano and guitar.  By far though, my favorite thing to do is to ride my motorcycle. In Bahrain, I’d make my dad wake up at 4 am to take me riding before school so that I could get practice in before the Middle East heat set in. On the weekends, my Dad packs us up to drive over two hours to the nearest track so that I can get practice in when we aren't racing. I raced in a series called South Eastern Motocross Association which is the largest all youth MX organization on the east coast.  I won the 50cc Beginner class point series and finished in the top 7 in the 50cc Open.

Riding Goals

This being my second year riding in competition, and my first year racing the 65cc class, my ultimate goal is to learn from my fellow competitors, become the best rider that I can be and ultimately improve to be a steady podium contender. I will be riding my YZ65 Stock and Mod bikes in every possible race that I can. I'd love to gain sponsors that are proud to have me represent them. If I don't finish at the top, I still want my competitors and the spectators to respect me because of the positivity that I show on the track and off. Being in a country that didn't have a race track for three years has put me at a disadvantage next to my peers but with my work ethic and determination, I will turn that disadvantage into an advantage and surprise everyone. I am the happiest when I'm on the track or working with my dad on the bikes and I look forward to making all of you happy that you trusted me with your sponsorship.
