Personal History
I am currently 42 years old and I started riding when I was 10 years old. I have always had a bike and started racing motocross when I was 16 years old just at a local track - nothing seriously. I started getting too competitive too fast and had a few wrecks that injured me pretty badly. I stopped racing motocross when I was 21 years old. I served in the military with the Reserves and got deployed to Iraq in 2004-2005. After I returned home, I had a career with a railroad company and worked odd hours and on the weekends. This was a huge constraint on my ability to ride / race on the weekends. After I changed roles with my job, I was able to ride more frequently and considered riding a stress relief and a way to stay in shape along with spending time with my 2 kids. I have an 11 year old son, Riley and a 10 year old daughter named Malorie. They started riding / racing when they were 5 year old. We ride together as a family all the time and my wife, Tina follows us around on her quad taking videos and photos. We live in Omaha, Nebraska and race 3 Harescramble / Enduro series - IERA22, MXC & Forward Motion.
Riding Goals
My main riding goals is to go out and have fun and learn something new each time. I am never too old to keep improving. I strive to teach my kids riding techniques that will allow them to safely succeed in the sport. I also wish to continue pass along great sportsmanship to my children and allow them to learn from their mistakes and defeats. We are members of 3 series and have met tons of friends along the way. We wish to grow the sport in a family friendly manner and continue having fun and making memories.
Competitive Highlights
I have been racing Harrescrambles and Enduros for 3 years and have won my class each year. In 2014 & 2016, have won the "Ironman Award" for participating and finishing each race of the year. Roughly only 5% of the riders in our series accomplish this. My children have also achieved this award as well.
