Personal History

I race a little as a kid and got back into riding when my two boys were 9 & 11.  There's quite a few riders and families in our community who like dirt biking.  Some of the other Dad's were veteran enduro racers and it became quickly apparent I was faster than most.  I've always enjoyed racing, having raced road bikes (bicycles) for 11 years, doing stage races similar to the Tour de France. My first Hare Scramble was the Phantom HS (also a National) out of Hollister, CA, where on an inferior bike I did pretty well.  On poor conditioning and very little practice I rode the race on "guts" beating both my riding buddies.  from that point on I was hooked.

Riding Goals

Although the results might now show, I was exteremely competitive in my last three races and was leading the Cow Mountain HS until I had mechanical problems.  My new KTM is also a big help and I'm in the process of upgrading the suspension. God and my wife willing, I plan to move up to the Senior A's by Spring!

Competitive Highlights

I guess placing 3rd overall in the 2008 Western Regional Cross Country Series (see pixs) was a big highlight.  The other notable was the Outlaw Hare Scramble @ Cow Mountain, where I quickly became the race leader, passing the guy who ended up winning the race, only to drop back to last after a mechanical problem with my bike.  Once the problem was solved, I slowly began moving up, finishing 10th with lap times that could have won the race.
