Personal History
I'm 35 and have been racing since I was 9 and I rac in Minnesota AMA District 23. I was a state champion in the Mini Jr 80cc classa nd in the Youth class. When I was 16 I had just moved into the A class and won my first race when I quit. I was in a car accident coming home from practice and I couldn't race after that because I didn't know what was wrong with me. I tried to come back 2 times for 5 races but I couldn't do it. Then when I was 30 I was diagnosed with Narcolepsy, a sleep disorder that has no cure. When I was 33 I went to the last Supercross at the Metrodome and decided I could still race and told my Mom and she went and bought me a bidke the next day. Her passion for this sport is as strong as mine. I started racing in the Vet B class in 2013 when I came back and took 1st place overall in the state. My Narcolepsy doesn't affect my racing, except in between motos I have to fight my body wanting to sleep and because of that and I have no time to practice working 12-14 hour days I started racing a 3rd class, the Open A class. Fortunately I don't hvae cataplexy because if I did I wouldn't be racing. I just recently found out that there is a Team Green manager that also has Narcolepsy so I am in good company.
Riding Goals
I recieved my Pro Lisc from Canada this year and was excited to be racing at some of their pro mx races this year. For this t year my goals were to win the state championship in the +25 A and Vet A class and Open A. I also wanted to quailfy for Loretta Lynn's and got to Ponca if possible. I also a going to do the Pro Am races because I would like to be able to try to qualify for the outdoor nationals. As we all know plans don't always go the way we want and this year the Lord wanted me to know that He is on control. There were some family health issues that came up and it required me to stay home and be a care giver. I still managed to race some races and raced the DMC Motorsports Championship Series in Minnesota. I was great fun and I did well. Next year my goal is to race the national Vet Series and Minnesota D23.
Competitive Highlights
My biggest accomplishment this year is I was till able to keep up with the young racers and that is always exciting. I won the DMC Motorsports Championship Series in the Vet Advanced Class and came in 4th in the 450 A class. I also started training 2 50cc racers and a SuperMoto racer.
