Personal History

My name is Cole Needham. I am 14 years old. I live in a small town in Iowa, Melbourne. I have been riding motocross since I was 4 years old. I began racing in 2007 on a xr 50. Over the years I have progressed very much. The past year I had my best season. I qualified for Ponca National and Loretta Lynns Regionals. I was working hard to make it to Lorettas. I placed 27th at regionals. Coming into the race I didnt know what to expect. Looking back on the race, I did a good job for it being one of my first big national. I am a 3.8 GPA student in middle school, I am also taking high school math. I am very active in everything I do. I also wrestle. I am very successful in that, placing at state. Although wrestling is the school sport and most people would say to put my time on that. My priorities are motocross. It is my favorite think in the world and my favorite sport by far. I am willing to be dedicated to it, which I do. I believe that is why I have progressed so much over the years. In Iowa, I am in the top 3 in my classes. I didnt race much after regionals because our family built a new house and my dad had to work on that. I agreed to that because I didnt have any big races coming up. I raced still but not every weekend. We built a practice track which I rode at every other day so I stay at the top of my game when we needed to take a little break. I am looking forward to the future and getting my name out in the amature national ranks.

Riding Goals

My goals for this next year are to progress more than ever. I am planning on training everyday so I can make it to Lorettas. I have the talent, I just have to use it and get used to the national tracks. I hope to go to many national races and be in the front of the pack.

Competitive Highlights

Making it to regionals and Ponca was awesome for me. I never had any type of accomplishment like that before. That was very cool and I look forward to progressing to The Ranch this coming season. In 2010 I won all the track championships and the state championship in the 85jr class. That was my first big season and that got me hungry to make it to the Amature ranks.
