Personal History

I started riding at age 7 and it was when my Dad bought me a pw80 yamaha and i started riding in the pw races strictly for pw80's or pw 50's and progressed to riding yamaha yz80's because I out grew the pw 80 soon. The 80cc novice class was what I was entered into and I had a terrible race in the mud for the first time. After that i caught on quick and rode alot in the sand at tracks like Hammersdale in South Africa which was the closest or ferobrake park which was in pietermaritzburg which is the capital of Natal which is the province I am from in South Africa. This is where Langston is from too my home town of Durban, South Africa.I went on to win a Natal 80cc championship and then on to a National championship with Yamaha in South Africa.Rex Staten lived with us as a family in the eighties and taught me alot along with other mentors like Brett Redman and Robert Herring who went to europe and moved permanently.I raced with Greg Albertyn alot and several other that were just as fast if not faster but were never given the opportunity to grow here in the States likr my self who got back into the sport after Andrew Shorts NowWife got me riding at a local track in bastrop where they now live.I went out and bought a Suzuki 250 two stroke new and raced it for a year or two and then wnet to hondas .one two sroke and 3 fourstrokes. One of those was a Ktm 450sx for about a week .I don't wish to talk about that bike too much!!!If thats okAY?

I have been happy on my Hondas and have recently been offered a bike sponsor to ride Green bikes for 08 and i am considering it as i have not riden Kawis before and they look awesome.ronnie lechien is my favorite past time rider for style and speed and whips and he rides a brand new kawi still at least that's what he told me not too long ago.

Riding Goals

My goals are to pick up more wins in Texas and get exposure to sponsors that wi;ll pick me up at 100% sponsorship.I also would like to do some arena cross this year as I hear they are fun to do and would also like to travel out of state and bring in some contingency money if I ride the kawasakis?I would want to hit as many contingency races as possible.

Competitive Highlights

i won a national championship in South Africa in 1988 and a Provincial Championship in natal South Africa in 1987 which was really fun because I dominated that whole year and once in a while had people like Greg Albertyn and Chad Smanjak show up and try  to rock the boat and numerous other Blue Stratos kawasaki team members which you probably didn't know such as Zane Fortman, darren Jardine, Carl van Niekerk etc.Anyway beat them all!!!

I live in Texas now and ride all that i can afford regionally which is really not alot of pressure just driving.I enjoy every race or practice we go to as my son who is five just started racing and loves it.He is out growing his bike too fast aswell!
